Due to interest by potential customers, Liberty Gas Storage
has started the permitting process with the Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission (FERC) to expand the facilities. This
new part of the project will be located in Cameron Parish.
The expansion project will add approximately 17.5 billion
cubic feet of natural gas storage in underground salt caverns,
which are located on 160 acres of property owned by Liberty
Gas Storage in west Hackberry. Additional land in Cameron
and Calcasieu parishes will be required for the expansion.
