Application process
Federal, state and parish regulatory agencies are involved in the permitting process. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is the lead permitting agency.

  • Pre-filing with FERC was initiated in the fourth quarter of 2007. The anticipated regulatory approval process is expected to take nine months to complete.
  • Extensive engineering design and review is conducted to ensure that the project meets rigorous environmental standards.
  • Public meetings will be held by regulatory agencies in order to inform and communicate with the community during the regulatory approval process.
